The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was first celebrated in Cornwall, England, in 1880. It has been celebrated annually since 1918 at King’s College, Cambridge University. Through a series of readings followed by sung responses, the liturgy leads us through the biblical account of humanity’s rebellion, our subsequent ruin, God’s promises of redemption, and the advent of the Redeemer.
If you are able to join us in person, please help us enjoy Lessons & Carols in a way that is healthful and helps others feel comfortable by wearing a face covering indoors and sitting with appropriate distancing between household groups.
To participate online, open the Lessons & Carols livestream in a separate window (Links: 1. YouTube stream on resurrectionopc.org | 2. Facebook Live). Then, scroll down on this page to follow along with the linked Scripture lessons and carols. You can also view a PDF of the print program here.
